Marketing Operations Specialist
Description
We are seeking a Marketing Operations Specialist to support product and delivery teams within a marketing and communications team. This role combines two disciplines. You will keep the marketing technology, data, and processes behind our campaigns running well, and you will drive agile delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams.
The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on operator who is comfortable working in marketing platforms and data, and who can also facilitate team ceremonies, manage competing priorities, and help teams deliver against evolving business goals. You will work independently and build strong relationships across product, marketing, creative, content, operations, and client stakeholder groups. You will play a key part in strengthening operational excellence, delivery transparency, and agile maturity across the organization.
The Work:
- Administer and optimize marketing technology platforms, such as marketing automation, CRM, and campaign management tools, and keep integrations running smoothly.
- Support campaign execution by building, QA'ing, and launching emails, forms, landing pages, and audience segments to agreed standards and timelines.
- Manage lead and contact data processes, including routing, scoring, lifecycle stages, list hygiene, and naming conventions, and document workflows and platform standards so work is repeatable.
- Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports on campaign performance, funnel metrics, and operational health, and turn the data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Support marketing product teams through planning, prioritization, backlog management, and delivery execution.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, reviews, and backlog refinement.
- Manage multiple timelines, dependencies, and competing priorities across teams and initiatives, tracking progress, identifying risks, and proactively driving issue resolution.
- Partner with team leads and stakeholders to align on priorities, capacity, and delivery commitments, and maintain visibility into team performance through reporting, metrics, and status communications.
- Coach teams on Agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, automate manual work, and improve ways of working.
- Must be willing to on-site 1 day/week to DC.
Here's What You Need
- 2+ years of experience in marketing operations, marketing technology, or campaign operations, and/or as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, Project Manager, or similar role supporting cross-functional product or marketing teams. Experience in both areas is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with a marketing automation platform (such as HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, or Eloqua) and a CRM (such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics), plus working knowledge of marketing data and metrics, including funnel reporting and list management.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives), with strong working knowledge of Agile and Scrum principles, backlog management, capacity planning, and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams, timelines, dependencies, risks, and competing priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Proficiency with work-management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence, and with reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI, to build delivery metrics, dashboards, and executive-ready status communications that clearly convey progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
- Experience collaborating with product, marketing, creative, content, operations, and client stakeholder groups.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Scrum or Agile certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of SQL, HTML/CSS, or workflow automation tools.
- Experience in a marketing agency, professional services, or client-facing environment.
