Marketing Operations Specialist

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later.)

At Oceans, we believe that talent knows no boundaries. That’s why we connect the best and brightest professionals with career-defining opportunities that challenge, inspire, and accelerate their career growth. Our community, whom we call Divers, don’t just work—they dive deep, solve complex challenges, and make a real impact with global industry leaders. And in doing so, they don’t just support bold ideas—they expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers.

As a Marketing Operations Specialist, you’ll be the driving force behind the Marketing Operations of an Oceans client. You will play a crucial role in growing their brand and/or revenue by managing marketing activities that span across many channels, such as social media, paid campaigns, content, strategy, and much more. By executing marketing strategies and overseeing day-to-day operations, your impact will be felt across the company as you fuel their success and scale their business.

Accountability

Your success as a Marketing Operations Specialist will be measured by your ability to drive brand and/or revenue growth through strategic marketing operations and seamless execution.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies aimed at brand and/or revenue growth, focusing on social media, paid ads, content creation, and lead generation.
  • Track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, adjusting tactics to maximize impact.
  • Collaborate with teams to produce engaging content that aligns with brand goals, and at times, take the lead in developing content yourself.
  • Manage budgets and optimize spend across various channels to maximize ROI.

Marketing Operations & Process Management

  • Oversee and refine marketing workflows to ensure efficiency and consistent execution across campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain detailed content calendars and schedules, ensuring timely delivery of campaigns and content.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with business objectives and KPIs.

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to drive collaborative success.
  • Provide insights and guidance to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader company goals.

Continuous Growth & Optimization

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of marketing efforts, identifying areas for optimization and refinement.
  • Keep up-to-date with marketing trends, tools, and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.

Correspondence & Communication

  • Serve as the point of contact for your client’s emails, phone calls, and other professional communication, ensuring responses are timely and professional.
  • Manage and streamline the flow of information to ensure your client receives all the relevant updates and data they need.
  • Prepare and organize materials for meetings, including agendas, presentations, and reports.

Colleagues

Your primary partners will be the Executive and marketing team members at our client’s business. Together you’ll ensure that marketing efforts are aligned with overall business objectives.

At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills and Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Marketing Operations Specialist, your vertical focus will be on driving brand growth and/or revenue through marketing strategy, optimizing campaigns, and executing marketing activities that directly contribute to business growth. Your horizontal focus will include collaboration across teams, process improvement, and data analysis to ensure campaigns are optimized for maximum impact. You’ll need to balance high-level strategy with hands-on execution to ensure marketing success.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Language Skills: Professional fluency in English, with excellent reading, writing, and speaking abilities.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in a communication-heavy role at a reputable firm, demonstrating strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Education: An undergraduate degree is preferred, though relevant work experience is also valued. Certifications such as an MBA, CFA, CIM, CIPM, or CIMA will be considered as an added advantage

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Marketing Strategy & Communication: How have you developed and implemented successful campaigns while ensuring clear communication across teams and stakeholders?
  • Performance Analytics & Attention to Detail: How have you used data and analytics to optimize marketing efforts, paying close attention to key metrics and outcomes?
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Adaptability: How have you worked with teams like sales or customer success to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with changing business goals?
  • Process Optimization and Proactive Problem Solving: How do you identify inefficiencies and proactively implement solutions to improve marketing operations and overall effectiveness?

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 3.5 weeks with us. During the offer process, we’ll share more information about our benefits and compensation philosophy, considering both market trends and individual factors.
