Marketing & Social Media Consultant - SIFMA Foundation

The SIFMA Foundation is seeking a Marketing & Social Media Consultant to provide strategic marketing and communication services that expand awareness and participation in our nationally recognized financial education programs, including The Stock Market Game™, InvestWrite®, Family InvestQuest™, and other initiatives.

The consultant will provide independent professional services to develop the Foundation's digital marketing and social media strategy, creating integrated campaigns that increase educator engagement, drive program participation, strengthen the Foundation's brand, and support fundraising efforts with the financial services industry.

The Marketing & Social Media Consultant will collaborate with the Director of Communications to ensure consistent messaging and thought leadership, and in collaborate with the Direct Delivery Team, which implements The Stock Market Game nationwide, to develop marketing campaigns that recruit teachers, support educator retention, and promote program success stories.

The ideal consultant combines exceptional storytelling skills with deep expertise in digital marketing, social media, analytics, and audience development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that increase awareness and participation in The Stock Market Game, InvestWrite, FamilyIQ, and other Foundation programs.
  • Lead the Foundation's digital marketing strategy across social media, email marketing, website content, paid advertising, and other digital channels.
  • Create compelling content—including videos, graphics, blogs, emails, educator success stories, and promotional materials—that inspires educators, students, donors, and partners.
  • Manage and implement the Foundation's social media strategy and editorial calendar across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Direct Delivery Team to develop campaigns that recruit new teachers, retain existing participants, promote classroom success stories, and support educator engagement.
  • Work with outside agencies and vendors on public relations, creative development, digital advertising, and content production as needed.
  • Develop marketing materials that support fundraising initiatives and partnerships with financial services firms and corporate sponsors.
  • Monitor campaign performance using analytics tools and make data-driven recommendations to improve reach, engagement, conversions, and program participation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in digital marketing, social media, or integrated marketing.
  • Demonstrated success creating and executing digital marketing campaigns that drive measurable audience growth and engagement.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple platforms.
  • Experience with social media management platforms, Google Analytics, email marketing platforms, CRM systems, and content management systems.
  • Experience with Canva, Loom, or comparable graphic design tools for social media.
  • Familiarity with SEO, paid social advertising, digital analytics, and marketing automation.
  • Creative thinker with exceptional content development skills across text, graphics, video, and social media.
  • Ability to manage projects independently and meet agreed-upon deadlines.

Independent Contractor Requirements

  • This engagement is intended to be performed by an independent contractor and not an employee of the Foundation.
  • Consultant must maintain an independent business and be responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance, licenses, and business expenses.
  • Consultant will determine the manner and means of performing services and will provide necessary equipment and resources unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Consultant may provide services to other clients during the engagement.
  • An established LLC or other business entity is preferred.
