Marketing Specialist | Personal Lines

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for marketing new personal insurance opportunities to carrier partners and securing appropriate coverage terms for clients. This individual will be responsible for managing and qualifying the intake of requests, preparing submission materials, evaluating carrier quotes, presenting to prospects and facilitating the binding process when coverage is selected. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to maintain productive relationships with clients, producers, insurance carriers and internal team members.

Work Performed

• Responsible for the intake of quote requests and referrals
• Secure necessary underwriting information to qualify accounts and prepare submissions
• Communicate with carrier representatives and underwriting teams
• Submit complete applications and supporting documentation by utilizing the carriers’ online rating system and submission processes
• Evaluate carrier quotes and proposals to ensure coverage accuracy and competitiveness
• Present coverage options to prospects
• Bind coverage after securing applications and premiums
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the agency management system
• Track and manage marketing data including number of requests, how received and outcome
• Evaluate changing market conditions, carrier appetites and emerging coverage solutions

• Ability to manage multiple marketing submissions and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Education & Experience

• Active Property & Casualty Insurance License
• 2+ years experience in personal insurance marketing, underwriting or account management preferred
• Familiarity with agency management systems (e.g. Applied Epic) is a plus
• Understanding of personal insurance coverage and underwriting processes
• Experience working with carrier underwriters and insurance markets
