Ornamental Concrete Products Ltd. (OCP) requires a Mason who will be responsible for assisting in the production of ornamental concrete products on a small-scale manufacturing site. This includes preparing molds, mixing and pouring concrete, finishing surfaces, curing, and handling materials. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment and supporting other general labour tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare molds and forms for casting ornamental concrete products.
- Mix, pour, compact, and finish concrete in accordance with specifications.
- Apply masonry techniques such as smoothing, shaping, and finishing concrete surfaces.
- Perform demolding, patching, and quality checks on finished products.
- Safely operate hand tools and small equipment used in production.
- Handle, move, and store raw materials (cement, aggregates, pigments, etc.) and finished products.
- Assist with packaging and loading of finished products for delivery.
- Deliver products to job sites and complete on-site assembly when required
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Site supervisor.
- Drive the company truck to collect raw materials and deliver finished goods to customers
- Manage cash transactions and process sales using a merchant machine
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in masonry, concrete, or general construction required; preferably 1-2 years.
- Valid driving license for Light and Heavy truck required.
- Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting up to 50 lbs, is required.
- Basic knowledge of concrete mixing and finishing techniques is an asset.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Basic skills in verbal and written communication.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a small-scale concrete production facility.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
Normal work hours are M-S 7:30am – 4:00pm. Interested candidates must submit a cover letter and resume. Background checks are completed.
