We are seeking a skilled and motivated Master Control Room (MCR) Operator to join our Live Streaming Operations team. This is a part-time position running from August through December, with training required before regular scheduled shifts begin. Work is scheduled on Sundays as needed. As an MCR Operator, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring all aspects of live transmissions, including inbound/outbound feeds, ad insertion, signal routing, and ensuring high-quality video, audio, and caption delivery for marquee sports and live events.
This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform under pressure. Candidates must be comfortable working weekends and late nights, as required by the live event schedule. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced situations.

This role will be
Responsibilities:
Acquire and monitor all inbound video, audio, and caption feeds.
Ensure programming continuity by verifying correct live feed check-ins, conducting transmission “fax” checks, and coordinating with remote and studio locations to resolve issues.
Oversee and maintain the continuity and availability of all live broadcasts.
Route video and audio signals according to booking and program schedules.
Cue and roll slates using EVS IPDirector.
Count in and out of studio and truck segments, as well as commercial breaks.
Collaborate with Operations Supervisors and team members to quickly resolve on-air discrepancies.
Troubleshoot technical issues, escalating when necessary to the Engineer-in-Charge or service providers.
Report and document technical issues, including maintaining logs of on-air discrepancies.
Operate all assigned broadcast equipment and technology within designated operating areas.
Participate in coverage of special events and additional projects as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in Master Control Room environment
Execute precise manual and automated transitions for commercial break entries and exits, ensuring 100% accuracy for commercial spot counts and as-run logging.
Works well under the pressure of Live Television
General understanding and experience with broadcast routers, transmission systems, monitoring, playout/ad insertion, replay, graphics, and other television technology
Ability to read scopes and basic understanding of broadcast and streaming systems
Team player and prepared to learn new skills, embrace and nurture a culture of change and positive attitude
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English
