Master Control Technician
Summary
Operates and monitors broadcast systems to ensure TV, radio, streaming, and digital content airs on schedule while troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating with teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor master control systems for television, radio, streaming, and digital broadcast services.
Ensure programming, public service announcements, and promotional content air according to established schedules.
Monitor broadcast signals, audio levels, video quality, and transmission paths to maintain on-air standards.
Switch and route programming, live events, and network feeds as required.
Verify the accuracy of broadcast logs, playlists, and automation schedules.
Respond to technical alarms, transmission interruptions, and operational issues to minimize service disruptions.
Coordinate with engineering, production, and programming staff to resolve broadcast-related issues.
Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with VOA’s digital asset management system
Operates computers
Completes tasks accurately and independently prior to deadline, in accordance with editorial and production priorities
Functions as effective member of a team
Serves as a team leader, assigning work and coaching team members and reporting to management on their performance
Other related duties as assigned
