Master Control Technician

Primary Responsibilities:

 Operate and monitor master control systems for television, radio, streaming, and digital broadcast services.

 Ensure programming, public service announcements, and promotional content air according to established schedules.

 Monitor broadcast signals, audio levels, video quality, and transmission paths to maintain on-air standards.

 Switch and route programming, live events, and network feeds as required.

 Verify the accuracy of broadcast logs, playlists, and automation schedules.

 Respond to technical alarms, transmission interruptions, and operational issues to minimize service disruptions.

 Coordinate with engineering, production, and programming staff to resolve broadcast-related issues.

 Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with VOA’s digital asset management system

 Operates computers

 Completes tasks accurately and independently prior to deadline, in accordance with editorial and production priorities

 Functions as effective member of a team

 Serves as a team leader, assigning work and coaching team members and reporting to management on their performance

 Other related duties as assigned
