Material+ - Data Architect - AWS/Agentic AI

Role Overview :

We are looking for a hands-on Data Architect with strong expertise in AWS data engineering, cloud DevOps, SQL, and Agentic AI. The role involves designing and implementing scalable data architectures, leading end-to-end ETL development, integrating AI capabilities into production applications, and driving technical architecture decisions.

Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end ETL and data engineering development using AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, and Amazon Aurora.

- Design, implement, and optimize AWS data architectures to support scalable and reliable data processing.

- Own technical architecture and lead design discussions, solution reviews, and architecture decisions with clients and internal stakeholders.

- Drive AWS DevOps activities, including Amazon EKS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and application deployments.

- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for data transformation and performance improvement.

- Design and develop Agentic AI solutions using LangGraph and LangChain.

- Integrate foundation models into production applications using Amazon Bedrock.

- Lead technical discussions, requirement analysis, solution design, and technical decision-making.

- Mentor developers, conduct technical reviews, and promote engineering best practices.

- Contribute to cloud-native, microservices-based solutions and distributed application architectures.

Requirements :

- 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in data engineering, solution architecture, or software engineering, with strong hands-on technical expertise.

- Mandatory hands-on experience designing AWS data architectures using AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, and Amazon Aurora.

- Strong experience in ETL development, data engineering, and data architecture.

- Experience with AWS DevOps, including Amazon EKS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployments.

- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, query optimization, data transformation, and troubleshooting.

- Hands-on experience building Agentic AI solutions using LangGraph and LangChain.

- Practical experience with Amazon Bedrock and integrating foundation models into production applications.

- Strong architecture, solution design, technical leadership, and client-facing communication skills.

- Experience mentoring engineering teams and driving code quality and technical best practices.

- Familiarity with Dynatrace and ServiceNow is an advantage.

- Basic understanding of Java 21, including Records, and Dapr/Diagrid or similar distributed application patterns is desirable.
