Material Quality Engineer

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure all materials purchased for projects meet quality requirements.
  • Review material data sheets and specifications to understand technical and quality requirements.
  • Prepare technical requirements for the procurement of structural and piping materials.
  • Coordinate with clients, classification societies, and third-party inspection agencies.
  • Review supplier quality documents, including ITP, MPS, MDS, and other related documents.
  • Conduct supplier and manufacturer quality audits.
  • Handle material-related NCRs, concessions, and technical queries.
  • Review and approve Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and material inspection reports.
  • Manage material receiving inspections and issue material release notes.
  • Conduct pre-inspection meetings with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Coordinate source inspections at supplier or manufacturer facilities with clients, class representatives, and third-party inspectors.
  • Monitor material inspection performance and prepare reports for the QA/QC Head of Department.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in materials quality management, source inspection, and quality control of structural and piping materials.
  • Experience working on Oil & Gas EPC projects.
  • Knowledge of material certification, inspection processes, and quality documentation.
  • Good communication and coordination skills to work with clients, suppliers, class societies, and third-party inspectors.
  • Familiar with industry quality standards, codes, and inspection requirements.
