Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) for Fort Riley, KS.

Verifies received materials are recyclable and contaminant free; brings discrepancies to attention of supervisor.

Incumbent loads materials on conveyor belts into baling machine and sorts various commodities of recyclable materials by category.

Selects and sets up proper storage areas for items within the general warehousing plan considering size, shape, and quantity.

Operates gasoline/diesel powered forklift with capacity up to 10,000 lbs or a skid loader for loading, unloading, relocating and palletizing commodities and materials.

Operates vehicles up to 1-ton capacity to transport materials on and off the installation in completing recycle processing duties to either deliver or pick up materials.
