Materials Handler (Forklift Operator)

About the Position: Independently receives, unloads, and processes all incoming shipments. Gives assistance as required to customers and other workers. Performs warehousing tasks in storage, Troop Issue Subsistence Activity and Central Issue Facility.

Perform warehousing receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, location survey, inventory and re-warehousing of general supplies and equipment.

Performs location survey, inventories and receipt processing with telex-transaction computers and bar-code laser scanners.

Receive and process items for issue/storage/shipping, identifies and checks quantities of items against receiving documents.

Search various storage locations to determine basis for over, short, or misplaced items and takes corrective action as required to maintain correct inventory and locator program.

Operate fork lifts capable of lifting loads less than 10,000 pounds.
