Summary
Handles warehouse operations including receiving, storing, and distributing medical supplies and equipment using forklifts and inventory management.
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of warehousing required in maintaining storerooms for supplies, equipment, and materials for the support of the Facilities Management Department. The position is located at the Gallup Indian Medical Center, Gallup, New Mexico. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Responsible for receiving, verification, distribution, storage, assembling for issue, inventory of supplies, equipment and safe operation of forklift and other material handling equipment. Insures shipment address is correct and unloads various sizes, weights and types of containers off freight including receipt of packages from courier services, checks for visible damages; physically verifies count before acknowledging receipt of goods and record information on all incoming shipment. Operates a forklift with a capacity of lifting loads weighing 4000 pounds and a reaching heigh of 15 feet skilled in handling the forklift and other material handling equipment. Conducts physical inventory of warehouse or storeroom stock items for the purpose of inventory management. Insure appropriate documents are established and maintained for all goods received and delivered.

Physical Demands: The work involves walking, sitting, standing, reaching and bending in the assessment and treatment of patients. Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment. A background investigation is a standard process used by the Federal Government to verify an individual's identity, employment history, education, and other relevant information to determine suitability for Federal service. Upon receipt of instructions, applicants must complete all required background investigation forms within five (5) calendar days of issuance. Timely completion is critical to avoid delays in processing or a determination of unsuitability.
