Your impact:
- Monitors activities of Contractors on the construction site within a discipline or multiple disciplines based on experience.
- Assists the Resident Engineer or Construction Manager in the coordination of activities.
- Perform materials coordination duties including but not limited to:
- Coordinate materials QA testing with RE and materials testing technicians/laboratory
- Oversee QA field testing of materials and materials sampling
- Review contractor materials submittals and evidence of inspection. Provide recommendations to RE or client/owner on acceptability of submittals
- Report materials inspection and testing according to the clients requirements
- Maintain project files related to materials inspection and testing.
- Provide daily inspection of construction activities
- Tests and/or samples materials
- On larger projects, may lead a group in a specific project task.
- Oversee materials coordination and documentation on multiple projects.
- Works independently at times and may supervise observation/inspection personnel as needed.
- Works under the supervision of a licensed Resident Engineer, Principal or Project Manager.
- Additional responsibilities as needed
Who you are:
- BS in Civil or Materials Engineering or related field required.
- Professional Engineer license preferred.
- Ability to perform more complex tasks and analysis that require applying specific engineering knowledge.
- IDOT PCC & HMA Level I, II, & III training courses preferred
- IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities training required or able to be completed within 6 months of hire
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
