DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Plant Material Manager is responsible for translating sales orders and SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) forecasts into robust material and production plans to ensure on-time customer delivery, optimal inventory levels and smooth plant operations. This role manages procurement timing, inventory control, production scheduling input and supplier coordination while working closely with Production, Procurement, Sales and Quality teams.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Convert sales orders and SIOP forecast into short- and medium-term material requirements and production plans for the plant.
- Run and maintain MRP/ERP planning outputs; create planned orders, purchase requisitions and production schedules as required.
- Manage inventory levels to target service and cost objectives (safety stock, min/max, reorder points).
- Place and follow up purchase orders with suppliers, monitor lead times and expedite when needed.
- Collaborate with procurement to qualify alternate suppliers and support supplier performance improvements.
- Facilitate interaction with Manufacturing, Logistics, Sales and Customer Care, Sourcing, Engineering, Finance, Marketing and Quality in support of the business’s strategic goals.
- Communicate production and material constraints to Production, Sales and SIOP team and propose mitigation actions.
- Prepare and maintain demand and supply reconciliation, resolve shortages and manage backlog prioritization.
- Monitor key planning metrics and generate regular reports (e.g., inventory turns, days of inventory, forecast accuracy, service level).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, forecasting accuracy, and inventory reduction.
- Participate in SIOP meetings; provide input on inventory risk, capacity constraints and order fulfilment commitments.
- Investigate root causes of planning failures (stockouts, late deliveries) and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate master data in the ERP system (lead times, BOMs, item classification, safety stock).
- Create a team building environment in which direct and indirect report can live the Allegion values.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field.

Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in material planning / production planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics preferred or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling) tools, demand planning software or Power BI for reporting.

Proven experience of:
- Demonstrated employee development capability to improve the team’s skill levels.

- Strong customer service orientation and provide dedicated support of internal customer requirements.

- Proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team-oriented environment while leveraging lean methodologies.

- Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff and to interact with various departments throughout the organization.

- Flexible, decisive and proactive problem solver.

- Strong communicator and possess strong organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple priorities at once.

- Able to work well in high pressure, fast-paced environment and be proficient at conflict resolution.

- Good communication and stakeholder management across functions and with suppliers.
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English

For this role, we offer an annual gross salary (RAL) between €45.000 and €60.000, based on your qualifications, level of experience, technical skills, and scope of responsibilities, in accordance with the applicable National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanici).
