Success in this role requires strong systems knowledge, cross-functional coordination skills, and a hands-on approach to keeping materials moving reliably through the site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- ROSS ERP Super User – Serve as the site’s subject-matter expert and super user for the ROSS ERP system as it relates to materials management, inventory, and warehouse transactions. Maintain data integrity within ROSS, troubleshoot transactional issues, train and support site users, and act as the primary point of contact between the Ohio site and IT/corporate ROSS administrators for system enhancements, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- 3PL Material Transfer Coordination – Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound material transfers with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to directly support the site’s production run schedule. Monitor transfer timing, quantities, and lead times to prevent line stoppages or excess inventory, and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies with 3PL partners.
- Warehouse Receiving Leadership – Lead the Warehouse Receiving function, including coordinating receiving activities and personnel workflow, ensuring incoming materials are inspected, verified, and received into ROSS accurately and timely, and maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, and safety standards during all receiving activities.
- Warehouse Clerical Administration – Own the clerical and documentation functions supporting the warehouse, including Bill of Lading (BOL) management for inbound and outbound shipments, completion and filing of receipt paperwork, and maintenance of accurate, audit-ready warehouse records in accordance with site and corporate document retention requirements.
- Corporate Supply Planning & Procurement Coordination – Serve as the primary site contact for Corporate Supply Planning and Procurement on materials management topics, including inventory positions, replenishment needs, supply constraints, and forecast alignment. Communicate site-level material risks and opportunities to corporate partners and translate corporate supply plans into actionable site execution.
- Finite Production Planning – Coordinate finite production planning for the Ohio site in conjunction with the Corporate Supply Chain Production Planner, aligning material availability and warehouse capacity against the finite production schedule, flagging capacity or material constraints, and adjusting site execution plans as schedules evolve.
- Continuous Improvement – Lead continuous improvement activities focused on warehouse material flow and process management, including warehouse layout and slotting, receiving and put-away workflows, and standard operating procedures. Identify root causes of inefficiency or error, drive corrective actions, and champion process and ERP-utilization improvements across the site.
- Manage site raw material, packaging, and finished goods inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, reconciliation, and root-cause resolution of variances.
- Partner with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure materials management practices support uninterrupted production schedules.
- Monitor and report key materials management metrics (e.g., inventory accuracy, on-time receiving, 3PL transfer performance) to site and corporate leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, food safety (GMP/HACCP), and regulatory requirements within warehouse and receiving areas.
- Support annual physical inventory and any additional audits as required by site or corporate leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or site leadership.
