Materials Planning Analyst III - Onsite

Job Overview

The Material Planning Analyst III is responsible for end-to-end material planning and execution to ensure on-time delivery to customers while optimizing inventory, production flow, and operational efficiency. This role drives executional discipline across planning processes, manages demand variability, and collaborates cross-functionally to meet business and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities


Planning & Execution

Analyze and execute MRP signals to align supply with demand requirements
Develop and maintain production plans that support customer delivery commitments
Manage day-to-day demand fluctuations and adjust plans accordingly
Create, release, and reschedule production orders to maintain plan adherence
Ensure timely product availability for shipment

Inventory & Material Management
Monitor short-term material availability and constraints (e.g., 4–1 week horizon)
Optimize inventory levels while balancing service, cost, and capacity constraints
Identify and resolve material shortages, excess, and obsolescence risks

Performance Management & KPIs
Monitor and drive performance to key metrics including:
On-Time Delivery (OTD)
Plan Adherence
Inventory Turns / DOH
Service-to-Schedule (STS)
Conduct root cause analysis for metric failures and implement corrective actions
Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on operational performance

Cross-Functional Coordination
Partner with Manufacturing, Procurement, Customer Service, and Quality teams to align execution
Proactively communicate priorities, constraints, and risks impacting delivery
Support escalation management for customer commitments and production issues

Continuous Improvement
Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean projects)
Drive process standardization and adherence to planning best practices
Support system and process enhancements (SAP, planning tools)


Project & Operational Support
Support capacity reviews and demand planning activities
Participate in audits, business reviews, and operational readiness initiatives
Lead or contribute to improvement projects assigned by leadership

What your background should look like

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field is preferred, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience
  • 5 years of experience in material planning, production planning, or supply chain operations

Technical Skills

  • SAP experience preferred (MRP, production planning, material master)
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities
  • Understanding of planning systems, inventory management, and manufacturing flows
  • Ability to maintain integrated computer systems and related data accuracy
  • Engage in cross-functional meetings, presenting key insights and updates to drive alignment and informed decision-making

Preferred

  • APICS certification (CPIM or equivalent)
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing / continuous improvement methodologies

Leadership & Behavioral Competencies
