ABOUT
NILE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
Established
in 2006, Nile Healthcare System is a growing, physician-led
multi-specialty system anchored by Nile Women's Health Care, a
well-established OB/GYN practice serving North Metro Atlanta. Our
system has expanded to include Nile Family Medicine, and we now serve
patients across multiple North Fulton and North Metro locations,
including our primary Roswell campus and offices in Alpharetta and
Johns Creek. Our OB/GYN practice manages a substantial delivery
volume each month, supported by a large and experienced clinical team
of physicians, midwives, and advanced practice providers, along with
in-house ultrasound technology and an experienced sonography staff.
THE
OPPORTUNITY
Nile
Healthcare System is seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM)
physician to establish and lead a new high-risk obstetrics service
line within our system. This is a rare opportunity to build an MFM
practice from the ground up, backed by an established referral base,
a high-volume OB/GYN practice, and the operational infrastructure of
a multi-specialty system — rather than starting solo in an
unfamiliar market.
North
Metro Atlanta — and the Roswell, Alpharetta, and Johns Creek
corridor in particular — is a well-documented gap in local MFM
coverage. Regional referral patterns for high-risk obstetric
consultation, ultrasound, and comanagement currently rely heavily on
phone consultation and referral to practices well outside the
immediate area. A physician who establishes an in-person MFM presence
here has the opportunity to become the region's go-to specialist as
the area continues to grow.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide outpatient maternal-fetal medicine consultation, including comprehensive/detailed anatomy ultrasound, growth scans, Doppler studies, non-stress tests (NST), and biophysical profiles (BPP).
Perform fetal echocardiography and invasive diagnostic procedures, including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS).
Provide genetic counseling and coordination for high-risk pregnancies, in collaboration with referring OB/GYN and family medicine providers.
Deliver clear, definitive clinical guidance and management plans back to referring providers — not just triage — to support confident, timely decision-making by the referring care team.
Provide inpatient consultation support for complex antepartum and high-risk patients; in-person hospital privileges and rounding capability strongly preferred, particularly for cerclage placement, with telephone/virtual consultation available as a secondary option.
Collaborate with and, over time, help supervise advanced practice providers as the MFM panel grows.
Partner with Nile's OB/GYN, family medicine, and behavioral/maternal-mental-health resources to support a whole-patient approach to high-risk pregnancy care.
Participate in relevant quality initiatives (e.g., maternal morbidity review) as needed.
Requirements
MD or DO, board-certified/eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology with completed fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Active or eligible Georgia medical license; willing to obtain hospital privileges at Nile's affiliated delivering hospital(s).
Demonstrated experience in comprehensive obstetric ultrasound, fetal echocardiography, and invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures.
Comfortable practicing across a hybrid model of in-person consultation and, when appropriate, phone/virtual consultation coverage for referring providers.
Strong communicator who works collaboratively with referring OB/GYNs, family medicine physicians, midwives, and advanced practice providers.

- Health/retirement
benefits, malpractice coverage, CME allowance, and standard system
