Mathematical Software Developer

Summary

This role involves developing and implementing numerical methods for solving ODEs and PDEs to support the creation of new software products. The developer will work within a team of mathematicians and scientists, collaborating with programmers to translate mathematical insights into efficient, robust code.

Salary: £45,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge of numerical methods for solving ODEs and PDEs
  • A PhD in a STEM subject
  • Good numerical programming skills, ideally in C#
  • Good technical communication skills
Responsibilities:
  • Develop numerical methods for new software products
  • Create and modify numerical methods for solving PDEs and ODEs
  • Produce robust and efficient algorithms
  • Implement methods in code
  • Work closely with programmers to convert mathematical insights into finished products
