About the Role:
Manage the sale and development of MC&A events and programs through lead generation, sales, client site inspections, program scope and budget development, and project approval. Manage these processes in conjunction with the operations team and continue to support programs through completion. This position is a hybrid position, works from home but must in the South Florida area.
General Tasks include:
Manage the sales and business development aspects of MC&A programs and events in assigned location/region (South Florida)
Responsible for contributing to the company’s local sales growth and achievement of financial goals
Spearhead local partnership development with suppliers and partners
Closely collaborate with National Sales team members on incoming RFPs, proposal development, client site inspections, assist to define program scope and budget development, secure the business and lead project approval
Ensure that MC&A service and product offerings correspond to the latest local development and are in line with the trends and demand of our clients
Manage these processes in conjunction with the sales, creative services and operations teams and continue to support the programs through completion and reconciliation
Specific Responsibilities/Day to Day Activities include:
Work with the sales and regional management team to develop and meet sales objectives
Work independently, research, maintain existing relationships and generate new business relations at target hotels
Develop new business from various verticals (third party, corporate and association accounts) through research (i.e., convention calendar), trade show marketing and coverage, CVB initiatives, local networking events and industry relationships with emphasis on growing the local market
Prepare program proposals and budgets to meet client specifications and ensure that timelines are met
Work closely with Account Coordinator and Program Manager to ensure vendor, venue and staff selection meets or exceeds client’s expectations and negotiations positively contribute to company’s profit goals
Oversee budget proposals prior to client submission, as well as ensuring project deposits and payments are documented and collected as directed by accounting department
Submit accurate and timely paperwork as directed by management including weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales/commission, job, and program reports
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Meeting/Event Planning, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the DMC industry preferred
Work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Strong knowledge of the local destination and its offerings
Must be able to provide consultative services to clients and sell broad range of MC&A services
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and able to easily adapt to other software programs (e.g. VIPER, CRM etc.)
