MDU Designer
Summary
Designs compliant FTTP fibre layouts for multi-dwelling buildings under nbn programs, ensuring standards and constructability while using AutoCAD and SpatialNet.
In this role you will be responsible for delivering compliant, constructable and cost-effective FTTP designs for Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) projects under the nbn Build Augmentation (BAT) and Full Fibre Upgrade (FFU) program.
The MDU Designer will utilise their expert knowledge of current nbn design standards, FTTP architecture and in-building fibre deployment methodologies to support the leadership team, project delivery teams and field operations.
The role is accountable for the end-to-end development of Detailed Design Documents (DDD-M), ensuring all MDU designs are aligned with nbn standards, constructability requirements, serviceability objectives and program delivery outcomes.
Experience required
Experience in nbn FTTP MDU design environments.
Strong understanding of nbn BAT and FFU program requirements.
Good understanding of current nbn design standards, specifications and architecture requirements.
Telecommunications design experience across MDU fibre deployments.
Experience using AutoCAD, SpatialNet (PNI),
Preferred experience using QGIS and/or MapInfo
Experience with FIR reviews, pathway assessments and constructability validation.
Understanding of in-building fibre infrastructure, risers, lead-ins and service class requirements (SC2/SC3).
Experience in network reservations, fibre allocations and ADR processes preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex design and construction issues.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Qualifications required
