Coordinate greenhouse gas and soil health measurements, manage data, and support reporting for a USDA-funded climate research project in South Carolina.
JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinate greenhouse gas and related soil health measurement activities across multiple commodities, sites, and measurement teams as part of the USDA-NRCS funded Advancing Markets for Producers in South Carolina (AMPSC) project. Serve as a communication bridge among project leadership, Extension associates, landowners, scientists, and field technicians. Maintain organized records of measurements, protocols, baseline information, and related meta data. Support timely completion of field activities, data management, reporting, synthesis, and development of monitoring frameworks. Contribute to analysis of greenhouse gas flux data and preparation of technical reports, planning documents, recommendations, and scientific publications. Completes other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
45% - Plan and coordinate greenhouse gas and related soil health measurement activities across commodities and measurement teams.

15% - Communicate with scientists, Extension associates, landowners, and technicians to ensure that measurement protocols are followed and completed in a timely manner.

10% - Collect, maintain, organize, and curate measurement data and related metadata.

10% - Analyze and synthesize greenhouse gas flux and related measurement data to support reports, monitoring frameworks, planning documents, management recommendations, and scientific publications.

5% - Assist project leadership with preparation of reports, especially those involving greenhouse gas measurement data and synthesis.

15% - Communicate with scientists, Extension associates, landowners, and technicians to ensure that measurement protocols are followed and completed in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in a related field and work experience directly related to the assigned research area; or a high school diploma and advanced journey-level work experience in a clinical or research setting.
Preferred Requirements:
Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Plant Science or related field.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
Expected Salary Range
60,000 - 70,000Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:
Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
