MECHANIC ENGINEER
Summary
Performs vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, including engine, transmission, and electrical systems, using diagnostic tools and following safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, and air-conditioning faults.
- Carry out preventive maintenance according to manufacturers' recommendations.
- Replace defective parts and components using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Conduct engine tune-ups, oil changes, brake servicing, tyre replacement, and wheel alignment.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
- Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure quality workmanship.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair reports.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company procedures.
- Keep the workshop clean, organized, and safe.
- Support fleet maintenance planning and minimize vehicle downtime.
- Liaise with customers or internal departments regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Assist in emergency breakdown repairs when required
Requirements
- Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or equivalent in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (entry-level candidates with appropriate training are welcome to apply).
- Good knowledge of petrol and diesel engines.
- Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic scanners and repair equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Valid Singapore Class 3 Driving Licence (preferred).
- Team player with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
