Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment
• Perform routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, brake service, etc.)
• Maintain and repair equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, trailers, pickups, and small engines
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, and electrical systems
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards
• Respond to field service calls and perform on-site repairs as needed
• Coordinate with Fleet Manager regarding parts, repairs, and maintenance schedules
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop/work area
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of experience as a mechanic (heavy equipment or diesel preferred)
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred or ability to obtain)
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Must be able to use tools and equipment safely

Work Environment

• Shop and field environment
• Exposure to noise, grease, fumes, and varying weather conditions
• May require overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs

Additional Requirements

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
