Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Mechanical BIM Modeler with 2-3 years of experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) to support the design and coordination of mechanical systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing accurate 3D BIM models, preparing construction documentation, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Mechanical BIM models for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems using Revit and other BIM tools.
- Create detailed 3D models, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines.
- Participate in clash detection and resolution using Navisworks or similar coordination software.
- Ensure BIM models comply with project standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
- Actively participate in project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Review drawings, specifications and client comments before updating the model.
- Support client review meetings by presenting BIM models, clash reports, and coordination resolutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address client comments and incorporate feedback into BIM deliverables.
- Generate schedules, quantities, and reports from BIM models.
- Support the project team in meeting submission deadlines.
- Maintain model quality and perform regular quality checks.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in Mechanical BIM Modeling.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
- Understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BIM execution plans.
- Familiarity with LOD requirements and BIM standards.
- Clear communication and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on Data Center projects with exposure to mechanical systems such as cooling infrastructure, HVAC systems, chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, and associated MEP coordination.
- Understanding of Data Center design standards, operational requirements, and high-availability environments is preferred.
- Experience coordinating with global project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams on Data Center projects.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on international projects (US, UK, Middle East, or Australia).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD MEP and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Understanding of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other relevant industry standards.
- Experience with point cloud modeling and scan-to-BIM workflows is a plus.
- Knowledge of Dynamo or BIM automation tools is an advantage.
