Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design and CAD Specialist to review engineering models and drawings, assess manufacturability, and develop realistic design scenarios. The work combines 3D modelling, GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM, engineering mechanics, and manufacturing knowledge. Previous AI experience is not required.

CONTRACT: Freelance contractor, output-based assignment

COMMITMENT: Flexible workload with minimum weekly task submission requirements

LOCATIONS: Fully remote - GLOBAL

PROCESS: Application review, technical assessment, and client evaluation

NOTES: Contributors are paid per accepted task. Selected experts should be available to begin within 24–48 hours after onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Review mechanical parts, assemblies, and 3D CAD models.
  • Evaluate engineering drawings for accuracy and manufacturing readiness.
  • Assess the correct application of GD&T and tolerance specifications.
  • Recommend improvements based on Design for Manufacturability principles.
  • Analyse tolerance stack-ups, fit, function, and assembly constraints.
  • Develop realistic mechanical design and manufacturing scenarios.
  • Review geometric representations of components and systems.
  • Explain engineering mechanics, tribology, and design decisions clearly.
  • Provide structured feedback to improve AI-generated engineering content.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in mechanical or production design.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar.
  • Practical knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM.
  • Experience creating production-ready parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
