Mechanical Design Engineer
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
Two to three years of experience in precision mechanical design.
Hands-on mechanical design experience using SolidWorks.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling, detailed engineering drawings, and BOM management.
Working knowledge of precision stages, gantries, actuators, and motion-system design fundamentals.
Good understanding of precision machining, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance analysis, and assembly techniques.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work effectively under guidance while progressing toward greater independence.

Preferred Experience
Exposure to product design involving precision motion systems, stages, or actuators.
Basic familiarity with motion-control components such as servo drives, encoders, and actuators.
Interest in developing practical experience in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting precision motion equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design and Development
Design and develop precision stages, gantries, actuator modules, and motion-system components, from initial concepts through detailed engineering drawings, using SolidWorks.
Prepare, review, and maintain mechanical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), technical specifications, and other engineering documentation.
Release approved BOMs and manufacturing drawings for costing, procurement, and production.
Evaluate machining tolerances, material selection, and assembly requirements to ensure product performance and manufacturability.
Provide engineering support to Production, Manufacturing, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams for new and existing mechanical systems.
Testing and Technical Support
Support the testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of precision motion stages, actuator modules, and assembly-level components.
Assist with integrating motors, encoders, servo drives, actuators, and sensors into precision motion-system assemblies.
Support the commissioning and functional verification of assembled motion systems before release.
Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Production, and customer-facing teams to resolve technical issues and support product improvements.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and engineering efficiency.
Perform other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.
