- Starting from concept, design and develop mechanical components, sub-assemblies and complete box builds.
- Translate product requirements into practical, reliable, and manufacturable designs.
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Work with suppliers to ensure practical and reliable designs that are cost effective.
- Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, mechanical engineering analysis and simulations.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, DFMEA, prototyping and verification.
- Support prototype builds, product testing, design iterations, and production introduction.
- Identify and resolve mechanical design issues during prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, manufacturing, quality, and other engineering disciplines.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience in product design.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software and engineering drawing preparation.
- Good understanding of engineering materials, tolerances, fits, various manufacturing methods, and mechanical interfaces.
- Ability to interpret engineering requirements and convert them into practical mechanical designs.
- Experience working through the product development cycle from concept, prototyping, and testing through to production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in consumer product designs or medical space devices.
- Experience in understanding electromechanical systems including sensor integration.
- Practical knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, die casting, 3D printing, or other relevant processes.
- Familiarity with thermal engineering principles.
- Familiarity with FEA tools for structural or dynamic analysis.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and quality management systems ISO 9001/ 13485.
