Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d)

  • Starting from concept, design and develop mechanical components, sub-assemblies and complete box builds.
  • Translate product requirements into practical, reliable, and manufacturable designs.
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure practical and reliable designs that are cost effective.
  • Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, mechanical engineering analysis and simulations.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, DFMEA, prototyping and verification.
  • Support prototype builds, product testing, design iterations, and production introduction.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical design issues during prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical, manufacturing, quality, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience in product design.
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software and engineering drawing preparation.
  • Good understanding of engineering materials, tolerances, fits, various manufacturing methods, and mechanical interfaces.
  • Ability to interpret engineering requirements and convert them into practical mechanical designs.
  • Experience working through the product development cycle from concept, prototyping, and testing through to production.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer product designs or medical space devices.
  • Experience in understanding electromechanical systems including sensor integration.
  • Practical knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, die casting, 3D printing, or other relevant processes.
  • Familiarity with thermal engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with FEA tools for structural or dynamic analysis.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and quality management systems ISO 9001/ 13485.
  • Flat hierarchies, direct communication, and a backbone of integrity, courage, responsibility.
  • A fast-moving environment where momentum is not lost in approval loops.
