Job Summary:
The Mechanical Designer Level 2 is responsible for producing high-quality design work that adheres to Epsilon's standards and meets work deadlines. This role involves reviewing and creating detailed and comprehensive project drawing sets for proposals, submittals, and presentations. The Mechanical Designer Level 2 will be expected to develop 3D models, assist in preparing “as-built” drawings for installation and operations manuals, and provide technical support to Mechanical Designer Level 1’s. Additionally, the Mechanical Designer Level 2 will collaborate with engineers and Mechanical Designer Level 3's, contribute to design reviews, and participate in project planning and coordination to ensure successful project execution. The Mechanical Designer Level 2 works on mid-sized projects and is familiar with multiple design elements and deliverables. This role requires some guidance from Mechanical Proposal and Submittal team lead.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Review project documents, emails, and scope of work information to create and incorporate into project drawings sets
Develop required project drawing sets for proposals
Develop required project drawing sets for submittals
Update the project “Weights” spreadsheet
Assist in creating 3D models and drawing sets for customers
Provide technical support to Mechanical Designers Level 1's and collaborate on design revisions
Assist Mechanical Designer Level 3’s when directed, and interface with the Director of Engineering or their designate, to clarify and resolve problems
Collaborate closely with the internal design team members
Assist in preparing “As-Builts” for installation and operations manuals
Assist in the developing of pricing activities by producing BOMs, Inches of weld
Assist in any other related tasks
Job Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering Technologist (3-year college diploma)
2 years’ mechanical design experience, preferably including experience with HVAC
Intermediate understanding of mechanical single lines and able to interpret them
Proficient in Solid Works, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, EPDM
Friendly personality, respectful of co-workers and able to work with individuals as part of a team
Able to multitask and work efficiently in a demanding environment
Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and able to work independently
Problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
Able to take direction and communicate with others
Able to attend work regularly
Able to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position.
