Job Description

On behalf of CUBIC, a Rockwell Automation company, we are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our R&D team in Brønderslev.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of CUBIC's modular low-voltage switchboard systems, including enclosure structures, busbar support systems, and related mechanical components. Working closely with development engineers and project teams, you will help turn concepts and requirements into practical, manufacturable products used in switchboard systems around the world.

As a Mechanical Designer, you will become part of a skilled R&D team in Denmark and collaborate with colleagues across Rockwell Automation's global organization. You will work in a new product development environment, supporting projects from concept through production release while contributing to both new product introductions and the continuous development of existing products.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop 3D CAD models, drawings, and product specifications for new products and product improvements
  • Support the design and development of enclosure systems, busbar support systems, and related mechanical components
  • Ensure designs meet requirements for quality, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and cost
  • Create and maintain drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and related product data
  • Maintain product information and specifications in relevant business and production systems
  • Manage the release of drawings, specifications, and product data through the Engineering Change process
  • Participate in prototype development, testing, and product verification activities
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and project teams throughout the product development process

Your role will combine hands-on design work with collaboration across multiple functions. Alongside your colleagues in Denmark, you will work closely with engineers, manufacturing, product management, sourcing, and project teams across the international organization.

To succeed in this role, you are comfortable taking ownership of your work and turning concepts into practical design solutions. You combine a structured approach with attention to detail and enjoy working closely with engineers, manufacturing, and other stakeholders throughout the development process. At the same time, you are curious, collaborative, and motivated by seeing your designs become real products.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • A relevant technical education as a Technical Designer or within Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Production Technology, Mechanical Design, or a similar field

  • Experience with CAD software, preferably Creo or Pro/ENGINEER
  • Experience working with large and complex assemblies
  • Experience creating and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and product data
  • A structured approach to managing product information and design changes

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Sheet metal design and manufacturing processes
  • Busbar stamping, forming, or related metal processing methods
  • Injection moulding, die casting, or similar production technologies
  • Low-voltage power distribution equipment
  • IEC and UL standards and certification requirements
  • Product development within industrial or electromechanical products
