Role description:
Provide tactical and technical advisory services to ensure Arcadis' Mechanical, Electrical and Process Design & Engineering teams derive maximum value from the portfolio of design engineering applications, platforms, and services. The role acts as a bridge between Discipline Engineering business stakeholders, software vendors, and Arcadis Technology teams to drive adoption, innovation, operational excellence, and effective software utilization across project delivery, digital engineering, and design workflows.
Role accountabilities:
- Provide consultancy, best practices, and subject matter expertise to global Design & Engineering teams and related business stakeholders.
- Act as a technical and functional advisor for mechanical, electrical and process engineering platforms, applications, and associated workflows.
- Engage with Discipline Engineering leaders, technical specialists, and project teams to understand business requirements and translate them into platform and application improvements.
- Collaborate with Arcadis operational teams to support application adoption, pursuits, project delivery, and digital engineering initiatives within the Engineering discipline.
- Promote the effective use of mechanical, electrical and process engineering software and digital workflows that improve engineering quality, efficiency, and project outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, automation, AI, and data-driven approaches within engineering processes.
- Represent Arcadis Technology in meetings with strategic engineering software vendors and enterprise vendor teams.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key software vendors, influencing product roadmaps, support models, and commercial outcomes where appropriate.
- Help administer, maintain, and optimize engineering project data and workflows within Common Data Environments (CDEs), including the application of AI-enabled capabilities.
- Support management of the App Store software catalogue and software standardisation initiatives.
- Provide support for escalated Level 3 platform-related technical queries and incidents.
- Ensure platform knowledge management through the creation and maintenance of Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs), technical guidance, and best practice documentation.
- Drive awareness and adoption of approved engineering applications, standards, and digital delivery workflows.
- Assist with application patches, upgrades, enhancements, and lifecycle management activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Min 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Digital Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of MEP engineering design processes, engineering project lifecycles, and digital engineering workflows.
- Experience supporting, administering, or working with engineering software platforms used within Mechanical, Electrical, and Process Engineering environments.
- Ability to independently solve problems in a structured, logical, and efficient manner.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary and global engineering teams.
- Project management experience with the ability to manage small to medium-scale initiatives from inception through delivery.
- Understanding of software licensing, vendor management, and contract administration within an engineering environment.
- Knowledge of industry-leading engineering applications such as Autodesk Revit MEP, MagiCAD, IES VE, ETAP, Amtech / Trimble ProDesign, CADWorx Plant Professional, CADWorx P&ID, Caesar II or similar engineering platforms - nice to have
- Experience supporting Common Data Environments (CDEs), BIM-enabled workflows, and digital engineering practices - highly regarded
- Familiarity with AI, automation, scripting, or data analytics technologies applicable to mechanical, electrical and process engineering deliver - nice to have
