Mechanical & Electrical Technician
About the Position
The Destinus Engineering Team is looking for a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to support the assembly, integration, and testing of mechanisms, safety devices, pyrotechnic assemblies, and propulsion systems.
This is a hands-on position covering both mechanical and electrical activities. It requires precise technical skills, a structured approach to documentation, and the willingness to work in a safety-critical environment involving energetic and hazardous materials.
The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, is equally comfortable using a torque wrench and a soldering iron, and understands that quality in this environment depends on process discipline, strict adherence to safety procedures, and thorough documentation.
What You'll Do
- Assemble and integrate mechanical and electrical components for mechanisms, safety devices, pyrotechnic assemblies, and propulsion systems.
- Install and solder wiring harnesses, sensors, initiators, and electronic components in accordance with aerospace standards.
- Perform quality inspections and functional testing of assemblies, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Handle energetic and hazardous materials in accordance with applicable safety regulations, permits, and work instructions.
- Create, maintain, and implement SOPs for assembly, integration, and testing processes to ensure safety and repeatability at every stage.
- Perform mechanical testing and validation, accurately document results, and report any deviations.
- Support failure analysis and corrective actions in collaboration with the Engineering and QA teams.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of assembly and integration processes while ensuring compliance with all safety and quality requirements.
Requirements
What You'll Be Doing
- Completed vocational training or a technical qualification as a Mechanic, Electrician, or Mechatronics Technician.
- At least 1–2 years of hands-on technical experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong practical experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with wiring harness assembly, soldering, and high-quality electrical installations.
- Experience working with energetic, pyrotechnic, or other hazardous materials, or a willingness to develop expertise in this area; knowledge of relevant safety requirements is an advantage.
- Experience with quality control, functional testing, and documentation standards in a production environment.
- Ability to consistently follow and implement SOPs in a detail-oriented, safety-critical environment.
- Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or another highly regulated manufacturing industry.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, disciplined, and methodical approach to assembly and testing activities.
- Very good command of English. Nice to have german and/or french.
