Mechanical Engineer

Delonghi is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive component and sub-assembly design through the New Product Development process, from specification to Start of Production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feasible, robust designs and right-first-time outcomes.

The role emphasizes CAD design (Siemens NX), DFMEA, and balancing performance with obsolescence and cost in a fast-paced global environment.

Drive component and sub-assembly design through the New Product Development process from specification to Start of Production. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feasible, robust designs and right-first-time outcomes. Lead DFMEA documentation and technical BOM preparation. Prepare feasibility studies with Industrial Design and R&D. Create and maintain component and sub-assembly specifications. Execute CAD design for parts and layouts (3D/2D). Support R&D in prototype testing. Collaborate with local R&D and Purchasing on costs/investments. Organize and participate in technical design reviews. Prepare technical documentation for project status and next steps in reviews and NPD meetings. Experience in designing mechanical components and systems. Proficiency with Siemens NX (3D/2D). Knowledge of mass production product development. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and evaluating test results. Creative and innovative approach to engineering challenges.
