Delonghi in Tuscany seeks a Mechanical Engineer to drive component and sub-assembly design through the New Product Development process, from specification to Start of Production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feasible, robust designs and right-first-time outcomes.
The role focuses on CAD design (Siemens NX), design reviews, and DFMEA to balance performance, obsolescence, and cost.
Drive CAD design for parts and layouts (3D/2D). Lead DFMEA documentation and BOM preparation. Prepare feasibility studies with Industrial Design and R&D. Organize and participate in technical design reviews. Collaborate with R&D, Purchasing and moulding teams on costs and manufacturing processes. Support prototype testing and pre-production activities. Create and maintain component and sub-assembly specifications. Provide technical documentation for project status in reviews and NPD meetings. Experience designing mechanical components and systems. Proficient in Siemens NX 3D/2D CAD. Knowledge of mass production product development. Familiarity with lab equipment and evaluating test results. Ability to lead DFMEA documentation and BOM preparation.
