Posted Updated
Discussion

You will design drone airframes, structures, and mechanical systems through concept, prototype, flight test, and production. You will integrate propulsion, batteries, avionics, and payloads; perform structural, thermal, and vibration analysis; build and test aircraft; investigate failures; and improve designs for manufacturing and service.

Responsibilities

  • Own mechanical design for drone platforms and structural components
  • Make aircraft weight, strength, aerodynamics, flight-time, and payload tradeoffs
  • Integrate propulsion, batteries, avionics, and payloads into airframes
  • Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analysis
  • Build, assemble, iterate, and support flight testing of hardware
  • Analyze failures and crashes and drive design improvements
  • Own component, assembly, and aircraft-level design validation
  • Design for manufacturability, repairability, and field serviceability
  • Collaborate with autonomy, avionics, electrical, software, and flight-test teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years designing hardware and shipping products
  • Experience designing drones, UAS, aircraft, or flight-critical structures
  • Understanding of aircraft structures, aerodynamic loads, stability, and propulsion integration
  • Experience designing lightweight structures with composites, carbon fiber, and aerospace-grade metals
  • Experience with CNC machining, composite layup, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing
  • CAD proficiency
  • Hands-on prototyping, fabrication, and aircraft testing experience

Benefits

  • Equity
