- This role is located onsite at our Santa Clara, CA headquarters
- Design and develop system-critical mechanical hardware, including structures, enclosures, electromechanical packaging, thermal management, and environmental protection
- Collaborate with hardware, safety, test, manufacturing, and supplier teams to translate product and engineering requirements into robust mechanical designs
- Own designs from analysis and CAD through prototype build, validation, root cause, and design iteration
- 3+ years of hands-on mechanical product design experience
- Willing to occasionally travel
- Due to the scope and responsibilities of this role, candidates must meet all U.S. person status requirements at the time of hire and maintain such status throughout their employment
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including materials, tolerances, GD&T, and structural and/or thermal design
- Experience designing complex electromechanical systems, assemblies, enclosures, or mechanical packaging
- Experience taking hardware through prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design iteration
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD; SolidWorks experience is preferred
- Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic startup environment as part of a small team
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design
- Experience designing rugged industrial equipment, robotics, material-handling equipment, outdoor electromechanical systems, or other complex electromechanical products
- Experience with environmental sealing, ingress protection, thermal management, or environmental validation such as temperature, shock, vibration, or thermal cycling
- Experience with FEA, CFD, or other engineering analysis tools
- Experience designing hardware for hazardous locations, explosion-protected equipment, or other highly regulated industrial environments
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, and shop tools
- Familiarity with hazardous-location standards such as Class/Division, IECEx/ATEX, IEC/UL 60079, or UL 1203
