Mechanical Engineer_ Silicon Photonic (Taipei)
Description
▶ About Silicon Photonics Business Division
Delta Silicon Photonics Business Division develops world-class silicon photonics chips and solutions that power next-generation sensors and intelligent systems. Our mission is to deliver smarter and safer environments — from machines and infrastructure to everyday life — by translating advanced silicon photonics into real-world impact that benefits people. We are a future-focused, innovative, and entrepreneurial team driven by deep technology expertise, bold execution, and a strong sense of purpose.
▶ We are looking for someone who can
- Design compact mechanical housings and module structures for silicon photonics systems
- Perform system-level thermal simulation (e.g., CFD, FEA) and design effective heat dissipation paths
- Implement thermal-control strategies using materials, geometry, airflow, heat spreaders, or active thermal components
- Translate electrical and photonics constraints into practical and manufacturable mechanical designs
- Work with the team to validate prototypes through thermal and mechanical testing
- Communicate clearly, document designs rigorously, and take ownership of module level mechanical and thermal performance
▶ What You’ll Be Doing
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing the mechanical housing, structural layout, and thermal architecture of highly compact silicon photonics modules. You will own the module enclosure design from concept to production, ensuring that mechanical integrity, manufacturability, and thermal performance all meet system requirements.
A major focus of your role will be system-level thermal simulation and thermal-control design, including heat-path optimization, airflow or conduction strategy, material selection, and thermal mitigation mechanisms. You will collaborate closely with electrical, photonics, and system engineers to balance performance, compactness, reliability, and heat dissipation in space constrained environments.
▶ What It’s Like Working With Us
You’ll work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment where mechanical, optical, electrical, and thermal challenges intersect. Problems are rarely isolated, and mechanical design directly influences photonic stability, electronic performance, and system reliability.
We value engineers who think holistically, iterate rapidly, and enjoy exploring trade-offs between size, structure, materials, and heat. You’ll be encouraged to experiment with new design concepts, validate assumptions through modeling and measurement, and drive innovative solutions that push the limits of compact, thermally efficient SiPh modules. Ownership, curiosity, and collaboration define how we build products.
We’re looking for someone who can grow into the role. If this sounds like a place where you could learn, contribute, and grow, we encourage you to apply—even if you don’t meet every requirement.
