Mechanical Engineering Technician
Summary
Perform on-site inspections, testing, and documentation for mechanical systems to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
1. Site Inspection
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress.
- Check that installations follow approved drawings and specifications.
- Identify defects or non-conforming work and recommend corrective actions.
2. Testing and Commissioning
- Assist in testing mechanical equipment and systems.
- Verify that systems operate according to design requirements.
- Record test results.
3. Technical Documentation
- Interpret mechanical drawings.
- Maintain site records, inspection reports, and progress reports.
- Update as-built drawings when changes occur.
4. Coordination
- Coordinate with Supervisor/Manager.
- Resolve technical issues during work.
5. Quality Control
- Ensure materials and workmanship comply with project specifications.
- Perform inspections before work is approved.
- Support quality assurance (QA/QC) activities.
6. Safety Compliance
- Follow workplace health and safety regulations.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and safety inspections.
- Ensure mechanical work is carried out safely.
7. Maintenance Support
- Inspect installed equipment during the defect liability period.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems.
- Recommend preventive maintenance practices.
