Mechanical Engineering Technician
Summary
Assists in installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment, including troubleshooting faults and ensuring safety compliance in challenging environments like tunnels and confined spaces.
- Confined Space Entry (CSE) training/certification is preferred.
- Assist mechanical engineers in the installation, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and mechanical components.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out troubleshooting and repairs.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Conduct inspections and ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Prepare maintenance reports, inspection records, and technical documentation.
- Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other technical personnel to resolve operational issues.
- Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory.
- Able to work in tunnel environments and underground construction sites, including confined spaces, while adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform duties in challenging site conditions, including shift work, night work, or overtime when required.
