Mechanical Exchange Technician I

As a Mechanical Exchange Technician I, you will play an important role in evaluating and repairing defective units while helping maintain inventory levels that support customer needs. This position is ideal for an individual with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work and collaborating with a team to deliver quality results.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Inspect and identify incoming units.
  • Disassemble units and perform failure analysis and diagnosis.
  • Clean, inspect, and prepare units for repair.
  • Assist technicians as required.
  • Install and remove units from simulator equipment.
  • Support shop floor inventory control activities.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support operational needs.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, vocational certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of mechanical experience.
  • Strong mechanical ability, average mathematical ability, and basic electrical skills.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical assembly and parts drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of electrical and mechanical devices, including precision measuring equipment and multimeters.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to solve product technical problems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to operate a forklift and crane.
  • Basic operation of manual machine shop equipment, including lathes and grinders.
  • Machine maintenance or previous mechanical assembly/rebuilding experience.
  • Experience with Bill of Material (BOM) research.
