Bombardier Mechanical/ Interior Design Engineer
What are your contributions to the team?
- Prepare all necessary documents to support the interior and structural modification of Bombardier aircraft such as detail, assembly and installation drawings, specification documents and substantiation reports.
- Coordinate with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components to support floorplan changes.
- Research specifications for component selection. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met.
- Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests.
- Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues and create deviation drawings as required.
- Work in a team environment.
How to thrive in this role?
- You have a minimum of 5 or more years of practical mechanical design experience in aviation.
- You have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent (highly preferred).
- You must be proficient in creating mechanical drawings using both 2D and 3D drafting/modeling software (AutoCad, CATIA, NX).
- You must be a self-starter and able to handle multiple initiatives effectively.
- You must exhibit excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- You must effectively communicate design intent and design resolution.
- You have a working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA).
- You have a working knowledge of electrical wiring diagrams and wire routings.
- You are proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
- You should be an organized individual, able to work effectively with a variety of cross-functional individuals, departments, and organizations while maintaining a good attitude and professional disposition.
