Our operations are organised into three distinct divisions: Landscape Products, Building Products, and Roofing Products. From maintenance, machining and installation to technical design, software development and project management, their expertise helps power our sites, develop customer solutions and support continuous improvement across the business. We're looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the team and play a key role in shaping innovative solutions and supporting our long-term success.
What's the mission?
Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. You will work on various different types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
You will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on-site. Working 48 hours per week, the shift pattern covers days - Monday to Thursday (10hr) and Friday (8hr).
What are the mission-critical skills?
- Mechanical fitting with good knowledge of conveyor belts, drives, gearboxes, couplings and general mechanical equipment
- Good knowledge of Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems is essential
- Finding and fixing faults safely and efficiently
- Welding and fabrication skills essential
- Routine Preventative Maintenance so an understanding of a PPM schedule is advantageous
- Turning and milling knowledge and experience would be advantageous
- Experience of working in a medium to heavy industry, particularly aggregates would be advantageous
- Electrical qualifications would be advantageous
- Working as part of a team in a busy manufacturing factory to ensure production targets are met
- Complete risk assessments when requested.
- Working to a high standard in health and safety, striving to make site improvements with energy, health and safety and quality
