Mechanical Modeller / Engineer
Department: Engineering Company: Leading Modular Construction Company Location: Dubai, UAE Reports To: MEP Manager Job Purpose The Mechanical Modeller / Engineer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and validating detailed mechanical BIM models and designs for modular and construction projects. The role ensures all mechanical systems are accurately designed, coordinated, and compliant with project specifications and industry standards while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities • Develop mechanical and plumbing system designs using BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360). • Ensure designs comply with local and international codes and client requirements. • Perform system sizing, calculations, and prepare technical documentation. • Create and maintain Revit families, templates, and coordinated project models. • Conduct clash detection and resolve coordination issues between MEP, structural, and architectural disciplines. • Ensure BIM models follow project coordination standards and workflows. • Participate in coordination meetings with consultants, architects, and project teams. • Support HVAC and plumbing system design, feasibility studies, and engineering evaluations. • Prepare design drawings, shop drawings, and engineering calculations. • Ensure documentation complies with project and company standards. • Maintain continuous professional development and support team knowledge sharing. • Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and BIM standards. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. • 2–4 years of experience in BIM-based mechanical design/modelling. • Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems. • Hands-on experience with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM 360. • Understanding of UAE construction regulations is an advantage. Skills & Competencies • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles. • Proficiency in 3D modelling and BIM coordination. • Ability to detect and resolve design clashes. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and teamwork abilities. • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environments. Language Requirements • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
