Job Description:

-Report planning performance, backlog status, and improvement areas.

-Audit and document adherence to company rules and regulations related to annual leave, medical leave, working hours, shift schedules, off days, safety instructions, and requirements issued by authorities or ministries.

-Coordinate preparation of spare parts requirements and maintenance documentation.

-Plan and arrange spares and services or contractors required during annual shutdown.

-Plan mechanical spares, consumables, and tools lists for the plant in coordination with the Chief Engineer (Mechanical and Utilities) on an annual basis.

-Plan equipment tool requirements for special or critical jobs and liaise with the Chief Engineer (Mechanical and Utilities) and the Utility In Charge and follow up with Purchase for procurement.

-Liaise with alternate brands or manufacturers for commercial items.

-Plan purchase requisitions for spares, consumables, and tools as per the required schedule in coordination with the Chief Engineer (Mechanical and Utilities).

-Plan jobs for the Planned Mechanical Maintenance Schedule for execution during planned down days with the time schedule for each job in coordination with the Chief Engineer (Mechanical and Utilities) and the Utility In-Charge and arrange external service agencies or OEM service engineers for specialized jobs.

-Plan annual shutdown jobs in coordination with the Chief Engineer (Mechanical and Utilities), the Utility In-Charge, the Crane Supervisor, and the Workshop In-Charge and arrange external manpower or contractors and required spares for major jobs during down days. Plan the annual maintenance budget.

-Plan actions to control and reduce maintenance cost by liaising with alternate vendors or local vendors to supply spares in place of expensive imported spares.
-Report planning performance, backlog status, and improvement areas.
-Liaise with Purchase to procure spares, consumables, and tools on time.
-Assist tasks and duties assigned by the superior.
-Plan the annual maintenance budget covering spares, services or contractors, modifications, improvement projects, and building or civil requirements.
-Audit and document compliance with safety directives issued by Management.
-Plan and liaise to develop multiple suppliers for each major spare or item who are technically suitable.

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum 6+ years of fully relevant experience in mechanical maintenance planning, preferably steel manufacturing.
  • Diploma: Minimum 8+ years of fully relevant experience in mechanical maintenance planning, preferably steel manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of EAF, LF, CCM, FTP, Cranes, Hydraulics, RMHS etc. .
Preferred experience:
  • Experience in steel plants (preferred), cement, utilities, or other heavy process industries.
  • Shall have Prior exposure using SAP or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred.
  • Exposure to KPI tracking, energy monitoring, testing instruments, and automation systems

Job-specific skills:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, preventive maintenance concepts, and maintenance planning tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to assess condition and usage of major mechanical spares, support timely preparation of purchase requests, and arrange & plan replacements effectively.
  • Competence in work order systems, spare parts management, and reporting.
