Mechanical, Plumbing & Fire Protection Drafter / Design Engineer

Compensation: ₱70k – ₱85k • No equity

About Us

Our client is a growing engineering firm serving the New York City metropolitan area, specializing in Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) design. We are looking for three talented remote Drafters / Design Engineers to join our team and work directly with our New York-based engineers during U.S. Eastern business hours.

This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level to mid-level professionals who want to build long-term careers in MEP engineering while gaining hands-on experience in U.S. projects.

What You'll Do

• Prepare mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection drawings using AutoCAD
• Develop floor plans, riser diagrams, details, and schedules
• Create existing-condition drawings from surveys, sketches, photos, and engineer markups
• Perform engineering calculations including:

1. Heating and cooling load calculations
2. HVAC duct sizing
3. Plumbing fixture-unit calculations
4. Domestic water and sanitary pipe sizing
5. Gas piping sizing and layout

• Coordinate drawings with architectural and other trade disciplines
• Revise drawings based on engineer, reviewer, and client comments
• Prepare complete drawing sets for permit submissions and construction documentation
• Maintain organized project records and CAD standards
• Support project updates during construction through RFIs and submittal reviews

Required Qualifications ✅ Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)

✅ Knowledge or experience in:

• Mechanical / HVAC drafting or design
• Plumbing layouts and riser diagram preparation
• Fire protection drawing support
• Engineering drawing interpretation

✅ Ability to perform:

• Basic HVAC heating and cooling load calculations
• Duct sizing calculations
• Plumbing fixture-unit calculations
• Domestic water and sanitary pipe sizing
• Gas piping layout and sizing

✅ Strong written and spoken English communication skills

✅ Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Engineering Technology
• Drafting
• Building Services Engineering
• Related fields

✅ Availability to work 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time Philippines: 8:30 PM – 5:00 AM (9:30 PM – 6:00 AM during daylight savings)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S.-based engineering firms
• Familiarity with NYC Mechanical, Plumbing, Fuel Gas, and Fire Protection Codes
• Experience with residential, multifamily, commercial, or hospitality projects
• Experience preparing plumbing riser diagrams
• Fire protection layout and coordination experience
• Familiarity with HVAC load calculation and duct sizing software
• Experience working under engineer review and approval processes
• Revit experience is a plus

Experience Level

0–5 years of relevant experience (We welcome motivated entry-level candidates with strong AutoCAD skills and solid engineering fundamentals.)
