Mechanical Project Engineer

Mitsubishi Chemical America, Polyester Film located in Greer, SC is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer. The successful candidate will work as a member of the Project Engineering group and ensure assigned project goals and objectives are achieved. Specific responsibilities primarily include, but are not limited to the following:

REPORTS TO: Director, Support Operations

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop engineering project packages which include tracking costs, assessing resources, and meeting project deadline requirements
  • Develop preliminary engineering details on feasibility, estimate cost, and prepare schedule for projects
  • Develop equipment specifications
  • Analyze bids and make recommendations
  • Recommend purchases and enter requisitions into SAP database
  • Observe and inspect construction activities to ensure project requirement compliance and established quality and safety standards are met
  • Support project startup and ensure drawing packages are updated in document management system
  • Troubleshoot equipment, gather data, and develop solutions to support projects
  • Supervise, host, and coordinate construction activities of contractors
  • Report on the status of assigned projects
  • Review status of project development with internal clients

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years of engineering and project management experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills.
  • Experience with extrusion and/or film lines is strongly desirable but not required
  • Organization and ability to develop work scopes
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.
  • SAP is a plus but not required
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in the posting.
