Mechanical Project engineer
Description
Join VeroTech as a Mechanical Project engineer and become part of our community where innovation and people come first. You take on exciting technical challenges and develop your expertise while creating solutions that drive progress across several industries.
About the role
As a VeroTech consultant, you join the product engineering team of an international industrial manufacturer. The team develops, qualifies and improves mechanical components for industrial pressurised systems.
This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on lab testing. You validate products, investigate failures and turn test results into clear reports. You act as the engineering voice in projects with purchasing, quality and suppliers. As you grow, you lead smaller projects yourself.
Key responsibilities
Run product validation tests in the lab on pressurised equipment, following internal test protocols
Investigate failures and root causes, and carry out material comparisons on metal and plastic parts
Write and present test reports, and explain technical findings clearly to non-engineers
Check supplier deliveries against specifications and support supplier qualification
Verify compliance with international standards
Release drawings and documentation through the PLM approval process
Support product redesigns and new product development in 3D CAD
Take part in project meetings and grow towards leading smaller projects independently
What we're looking for
You start with a structured onboarding: training on processes, test protocols and lab safety first, followed by your first independent tests. The role is lab-based, so you work on-site during the first months, with hybrid working possible afterwards.
We’re looking for a hands-on mechanical engineer who enjoys spending time in the lab, testing products and finding out why things fail.
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar
Junior profile: recent graduates are welcome; around 1 year of experience is a plus
A real interest in hands-on testing and lab work: you like getting your hands dirty, not just working behind a screen
Basic understanding of material science and manufacturing techniques (casting, machining, injection moulding, 3D printing)
Analytical, root-cause-analysis mindset
Experience with a 3D CAD tool (Inventor is a plus; SolidWorks, Creo or similar are fine)
Understanding of PLM and release processes (Enovia is a plus)
Basic knowledge of engineering principles for pressurised systems; familiarity with PED / ASME standards or hydrostatic testing is a strong plus
Able to start at short notice
Fluent English is required; Dutch is an asset
