Mechatronic Technician (Production Support)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a committed and skilled Mechatronic Technician to join our 24/7 food manufacturing facility team. This technician will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, automation, and HVAC systems to support continuous production operations and ensure equipment reliability and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on production and packaging machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, automation, and basic HVAC/aircon system faults (HVAC/aircon system training will be provided if necessary).
- Support the setup, installation, upgrading, and commissioning of equipment.
- Provide on-the-spot technical support to production to resolve equipment or process-related issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logbooks, and documentation.
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and food manufacturing protocols (GMP, BRCGS, etc.).
- Assist in machine fine-tuning and adjustments to optimize performance.
- Support calibration, verification, and monitoring of critical equipment.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Perform basic fabrication, modification, or upgrading tasks when needed.
- Work closely with production, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
- Perform general housekeeping and upkeep of the production equipment area.
- Able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, as part of 24/7 plant operations.
- Any other tasks assigned by supervisors or management related to equipment, production, or facility support.
Requirements:
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline from a recognized institution.
Experience
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a mechatronics/maintenance role, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, automation, and basic HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and diagrams.
- Physically fit; able to perform manual work in a production environment.
- Good problem-solving skills and able to work independently under pressure.
- Bilingual proficiency and ability to work with a diverse team.
- Ability to write and understand English instructions is mandatory.
- Familiarity with food safety and quality standards is an advantage.
