Job Scope

You will report directly to the Hardware Technical Lead and work closely with our multidisciplinary engineering team. During your internship, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the development of BeeX's autonomous underwater vehicles.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assist in designing mechanical components, mechanisms, and electronic enclosures using CAD software.
  • Support prototyping, fabrication, and assembly of mechanical and mechatronic systems.
  • Assist with mechanical testing, validation, and troubleshooting of components and assemblies.
  • Participate in laboratory, workshop, and field testing, including sea trials where applicable.
  • Support firmware development and testing for embedded systems and microcontrollers.
  • Assist with sensor integration, actuator testing, and hardware bring-up.
  • Help prepare engineering drawings, technical documentation, and test reports.
  • Support quality control activities and product verification testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product performance and manufacturability.
  • Perform other engineering tasks as assigned by the team.

Desired Qualities and Skillsets

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with engineering prototyping methods such as 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, or similar is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of embedded systems, sensors, actuators, or microcontrollers is a plus.
  • Exposure to C/C++, Arduino, STM32, or ARM-based development is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PCB design, wire harnessing, or electronics assembly is advantageous.
  • Understanding of engineering testing and validation methodologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Git or version control tools is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Able to commit to a full-time internship in Singapore.
