Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Harlingen, TX. The ideal candidate will provide clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for examination, taking vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
• Handle patient billing and insurance documentation.
• Ensure examination rooms and medical equipment are clean and properly stocked.
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus.
• Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

Work Environment

This position is based in a medical office setting in Harlingen, TX. The role requires standing for extended periods, occasional lifting of medical supplies, and direct interaction with patients.
