About the Position

Coastal Health Spine & Pain is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office and is committed to providing excellent patient care and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and room patients in a professional and compassionate manner
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, and medication information
• Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization
• Assist with injections and other in-office procedures as directed
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Coordinate patient testing, referrals, and follow-up appointments
• Communicate with pharmacies, other medical offices, and patients as needed
• Answer phones, respond to patient questions, and assist with scheduling
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records
• Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and office policies
• Perform other clinical and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Previous medical office or clinical experience preferred
• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or a specialty practice is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Professional, dependable, and compassionate demeanor
• Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team
• Comfortable working with electronic medical records
